  Wool Grader Apprenticeship  

Location: Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers, 142 Franktown Rd, Carleton Place, Ontario
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site | Monday to Friday | $22-25 per/hour to start

We are currently seeking a Wool Grader to join our Carleton Place facility, the heart of Canada’s wool grading and marketing operations.

๐Ÿงถ Key Responsibilities:

  • Grade raw wool by hand according to type, quality, and preparation method
  • Identify and sort fleeces into appropriate categories (fine, medium, coarse)
  • Operate hydraulic wool presses to bale graded wool (up to 1,200 lbs per bale)
  • Maintain accurate records of wool grades and weights
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow
  • Follow safety and cleanliness protocols in the grading area

๐Ÿ‘ Qualifications:

  • Experience or strong interest in agriculture, textiles, or livestock industries
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Physically fit and able to lift and move wool sacks and bales
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Training will be provided for the right candidate
